Sen. Joe Getty Hosts 'Meet and Greets' in Carroll County
What do you want to talk to your local representatives about?

This fall, Sen. Joe Getty, R-Dist. 5, will host five “Meet and Greet” events in parts of Carroll County that are now in Senate District 5.
These informal meetings will provide Sen. Getty an opportunity to meet with residents and discuss the upcoming 2014 legislation session, according to a news release.
Getty is now the Senate Minority Leader and has been appointed to the Senate Budget and Tax Committee.

Next year’s election will be the first in which the reconfigured state legislative districts from the 2012 redistricting are in effect.
Approximately one-third of the district will be Carroll County residents who were formerly in Senate district four or district nine, according to a release.

Three of the “Meet & Greet” events have been scheduled in these new areas of district five:
- Union Bridge: Buttersburg Inn, 9 North Main St. on Wednesday Nov. 13 from 6:30 - 8:30 p.m.
- Taneytown: Gunners Grille, 5525 Taneytown Pike on Tuesday, Nov. 19 from 6:30 - 8:30 p.m.
- Eldersburg: Salerno’s, 1043 Liberty Rd. on Wednesday, Nov. 20 from 6:30 - 8:30 p.m.
Two additional events have been scheduled in the North Carroll and Westminster areas that are currently in Senate district 5:
- Manchester: Dutch Corner Restaurant, 3154 Main St. on Wednesday, Dec. 4 from 6:30 - 8:30 p.m.
- Westminster: Harry’s Restaurant, 65 West Main St. on Wednesday, Dec 11 from 6:30 - 8:30 p.m.
