Severe Thunderstorm Watch: Metro Baltimore Area Under Alerts Saturday
National Weather Service has issued two alerts for the region, due to remnants of Tropical Depression Bill making their way into the area.

The National Weather Service has issued two weather alerts for the metro Baltimore and Washington, D.C. areas Saturday, due to the remnants of Tropical Depression Bill making their way into the area.

The region is under a Severe Thunderstorm Watch Saturday from 2:20 p.m. until 11 p.m.
The area is also under a Flash Flood Watch from Saturday at 8 p.m. until Sunday at 8 a.m.

The areas in the Watch zone include the city of Baltimore, along with Anne Arundel, Baltimore, Carroll, Harford, Howard, Montgomery and Prince George’s counties.
Earlier Saturday the Weather Service warned of torrential rain falling Saturday night into Sunday morning, with up to 3 inches possible.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch issued by the National Weather Service means that the potential exists for the development of thunderstorms which may produce large hail or damaging winds. When a watch is issued, you should go about your normal activities, but keep an eye to the sky and an ear to the National Weather Service’s weather radio or local radio and television stations for further updates and possible warnings.
A Flash Flood Watch is issued when conditions are favorable for a specific hazardous weather event to occur. A Flood Watch is issued when conditions are favorable for flooding. It does not mean flooding will occur, but it is possible.
