Teen Charged with Attempted Murder After Grabbing Mom's Steering Wheel: Police
An 18-year-old passenger is accused of causing the car crash that required a medevac to rescue his mother, Maryland State Police said.
CARROLL COUNTY, MD — An Elkridge teen is charged with attempted murder after he allegedly grabbed ahold of the steering wheel while his mother was driving Friday morning, causing a crash in Mount Airy that sent her to shock trauma, police said.
Devin Parker Harbison, 18, was the only other passenger in a blue sedan that his mother was driving on Ridge Road near Braddock Road when they got into an argument at approximately 11:30 a.m. and he turned the steering wheel sharply to the right, according to Maryland State Police.
The Honda went off the road and into the front yard of a residence in the 4300 block of Ridge Road, where a basketball hoop, a tree, fixtures and other items came to rest with the vehicle against the house, police said.
