Submission EXTENDED - Feb. 21st for Statewide Poster Contest

The submission deadline for the statewide Arbor Day Poster Contest has been extended to Wednesday, February 21st (12pm) for 5th grade students attending Maryland schools. The poster theme this year is Trees Are Terrific and Make Communities Healthy!

Posters are first judged at the county level and move onto the next round evaluated by the Maryland Urban and Community Forestry Committee (MUCFC). County posters will then be judged by The annual contest is sponsored by the Maryland Forest Service, in partnership with the Maryland Forest Conservancy District Boards. There will be three top winners receiving prizes. This year, Yumi Hogan, First Lady of the State of Maryland is going to be a judge for the contest.

  • First Place - a tree planting of 15 trees for the winning school
  • Second Place - a tree planting of 10 trees for the winning school
  • Third Place - a tree planting of 5 trees for the winning school
