Sykesville Restaurant hosting Murder Mysteries in the Fall of 2017
Baldwin's Station Restaurant hires Whodunnit for Hire to put on a Pirate Themed Murder Mystery Dinner series in the fall of 2017.

Baldwin's Station Restaurant is an 1883 Railroad Station on Main Street in Sykesville, Maryland sitting directly next to the tracks which run through town. The restaurant hosts a number of entertainers throughout the year including Whodunnit for Hire, the traveling murder mystery entertainment company. They turn the restaurant's main dining space into a crime scene approximately once each month.
This fall, Whodunnit for Hire will treat guests to a "swashbucklin' good time!" Guests are being asked to come dressed as, you guessed it, PIRATES. The title of this season's murder mystery dinner is "Dead Men Tell No Tales". The storyline is set in the year 1715 on the pirate ship The Wasp. The premise is that each guest is the Captain of their own ship but one of the Captains will meet with an untimely demise and the remainder will have to solve who done the nasty deed.
Whodunnit for Hire is asking that if you make a reservation that you come dressed as a pirate. It isn't required but it is encouraged. The men should go unshaven for a few days. Wear an old shirt and put a large belt over it, and wear a bandana and a hoop earring. The rougher the look, the better. Ladies could wear something resembling a corset and peasant skirt with boots and large earrings. There are plenty of places to get ideas for diy costumes on line. One of the best sites for costume ideas is Pinterest. If you don't want to dress the part, that is okay. It is not required. The point is to have fun.

Guests will be eating, drinking, telling jokes and laughing as they try to solve the crime. The mystery is suited for an audience of sixteen and over but, as you can image, there will be a fair amount of drinking expected on the ship so be warned if you do bring your under 21 mates. IDs will be required.
The Menu consists of three courses. The first course is a Ship's Biscuit and Booty Salad. The dessert is a Banana Spring Roll and Ice Cream topped with a Rum Cinnamon Glaze. The guests have their choice of three different entree options. They may choose either Treasure Chest Tilapia or Drunken Chicken or Caribbean Spice Beef. It wouldn't be a party of pirates without a fair amount of rum, and for that reason the restaurant will be offering happy hour drink prices all night for their rum, ale and other grog.
The maximum number of guests who can attend the murder mystery party is 54. It is therefore recommended that you make your reservations early. There are four dates being offered this fall; all Fridays, August 25, September 29, October 27 and November 3. Reservations should be made on line at EventBrite. Should you have questions you are encouraged to contact Wendy Olenik, owner of Whodunnit for Hire at 410-549-2722. She can also be reached at murdermysterycompany@gmail.com
