Weather Alert Extended for Carroll County

The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for several Maryland counties, along with the city of Baltimore.

The counties in the warned area include Baltimore, Carroll, Harford and Howard until 6:45 p.m.

A line of severe thunderstorms capable of producing damaging winds in excess of 60 mph is moving through the area at 55 mph.

Cities in the path of the storm are: Baltimore, Aberdeen, Bel Air, Damascus, Cockeysville, Rockville, Gaithersburg, College Park, Greenbelt, Clinton, Olney and Bethesda.

A tornado watch remains in effect for the area until 11 p.m. for the area.
