Carroll County Public Schools and other agencies alter schedules on Tuesday, Feb. 16.

Schools are closed in Carroll County on Tuesday, Feb. 16, Carroll County Public Schools officials announced.
School offices will open at 10 a.m., and liberal leave is in effect for nonemergency personnel.
A winter storm warning is in effect for Carroll County until 10 a.m. with up to 0.25-inch ice possible from freezing rain, according to the National Weather Service, which said slippery roads were in the forecast until temps rise to the lower 30s Tuesday morning.

The Maryland State Highway Administration advised that there were isolated icy patches on roads, particularly on elevated surfaces, and state transportation officials recommended delaying travel plans.
The National Weather Service also issued a flood watch for Carroll County until 11 p.m. Tuesday, as snow melt and up to 1.5 inches of rain may cause streams and low-lying areas to flood.

Other Schedule Changes for Feb. 16:
- The Carroll County Planning Commission meeting is canceled.
- Carroll County government offices will open at 10 a.m. Liberal leave is in effect.
- Carroll County senior centers will open at 10 a.m.
- Carroll County landfill will open at 10 a.m.

- There is liberal leave for Maryland state employees until 11 a.m.
