HOWARD COUNTY, MD — Police said a 2-year-old who went missing from a townhouse community off US 1 in Elkridge Wednesday night has been located Thursday morning. He was found when a postal worker discovered him on the side of Interstate 95 and notified authorities after 8 a.m., according to officials.

Police said Ethan Adeyemi, 2, was on the side of I-95 north just before MD 103 when the U.S. Postal Service employee saw him and pulled over.

"It appears Adeyemi walked approximately a half mile from where he went missing last night," the Howard County Police Department said in a statement Thursday morning.

Before the child was found, police said nearly 100 law enforcement and fire personnel participated in the search for the boy, who is nonverbal and may be on the autism spectrum. Since he was reported missing Wednesday night, officials used Ring doorbell videos and drones (once weather permitted it) in the search as well as K-9 officers.

The child was taken to Johns Hopkins Hospital, where police said "he appears to be in good health." According to WBFF, the boy was being treated for hypothermia.
