2015 Howard County Public Schools Calendar

The first bell for the 2015-16 school year will ring on Aug. 24 in Howard County, and that means parents need to get their calendars in order.

To help out, we’ve compiled the important dates for the coming year from the Howard County Public School System.

Monday, Aug. 17 School staff returns.

Monday, Aug. 24 First day of school for students.

Monday, Sept. 7 Labor Day. Schools and offices closed.

Monday, Sept. 14 Schools and offices closed.

Wednesday, Sept. 23 Schools and offices closed.

Friday, Oct. 2 Schools closed for students. Professional development day.

Friday, Oct. 16 Schools closed for students.

Friday, Oct. 30 All schools close three hours early.

Monday, Nov. 23 Schools close three hours early. No half-day Pre-K/RECC. Elementary and middle school parent/teacher conferences. High school professional learning.

Tuesday, Nov. 24 Schools close three hours early. Parent/teacher conferences. No half-day Pre-K/RECC.

Wednesday, Nov. 25 Schools closed for students. Parent/teacher conferences.

Thursday, Nov. 26, and Friday, Nov. 27 Schools and offices closed.

Thursday, Dec. 24, to Friday, Jan. 1 Schools closed. Winter break.

Monday, Jan. 18 Schools and offices closed.

Wednesday, Jan. 20 High schools close three hours early. No RECC/No half-day Pre-K

Thursday, Jan. 21 High schools close three hours early. No RECC/half-day Pre-K.

Friday, Jan. 22 All schools close three hours early. No RECC/No half-day Pre-K.

Thursday, Feb. 4 Elementary and middle schools close three hours early. No half-day Pre-K/RECC. Elementary and middle school parent/teacher conferences.

Friday, Feb. 5 All schools closed for students. Elementary and middle school parent/teacher conferences. High school professional learning half-day/conferences half-day.

Monday, Feb. 8 Schools closed for students. Countywide professional learning day.

Monday, Feb. 15 Schools and offices closed.

Friday, March 25 Schools and offices closed.

Monday, March 28 to Sunday, April 3 Schools closed for spring break.

Friday, April 8 Schools close three hours early. No half-day Pre-K/RECC.

Tuesday, April 26 Schools and offices closed. Primary Election Day .

Friday, May 20 Schools closed for students. Professional learning/articulation day.

Monday, May 30 Schools and offices closed.

Monday, June 6. High schools (only) close three hours early. No half-day Pre-K/RECC.

Tuesday, June 7, to Wednesday, June 8 Last day of school. All schools close three hours early. No half-day Pre-K/RECC.
