The Arc of Howard County is Looking for Volunteers
Visitors, monitors, hobbyists and sign language teacher sought
The Arc of Howard County is seeking volunteers to support is mission of achieving full community life for children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Volunteers are being sought to visit people The Arc supports in their homes for a hour or two twice a month. Activities include playing cards, arts and crafts watching sports, listening to music or sharing other hobbies.
Volunteer monitors are also needed to interview people who receive support services from The Arc and provide written observations of their visits at homes, The Arc’s headquarters, at employment sites or other places within the community, such as senior centers. A two-hour training session is provided. Monitors usually volunteer two hours per month.

A musician or music lover is sought to share music with adults with developmental disabilities for a half hour once a month.
A sign language teacher is needed to teach basic sing language to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities one hour a week on a weekday morning.
