The Bank of America Charitable Foundation has awarded Grassroots a grant of $20,000 to help fund continued care management and support services for residents of the family shelter. Last year, Grassroots served 93 people in the family shelter, including 41 children.

Bank of America’s grant program is designed “to advance local economies and create positive change.”

Grassroots is Howard County 24-7 crisis intervention center and shelter for the homeless. A resident in the shelter program is assigned a case manager who works with the resident to develop a housing plan, identifying the most realistic and obtainable housing options. Saving money, mental health treatment, and addiction services may also be part of the plan.
