Murder Mystery with a Twist

Where:  Terrapin Adventures, Savage

Description:  Participants will have to zip, swing, and 
climb to find the answers that will help solve this clue-based mystery.

Where:  Howard County General  hospital parking lot at 5755 Cedar Lane in Columbia

When:  Saturday, July 13, 9 a.m. 

Description:  As part of Howard County General Hospital’s 40th anniversary celebration, the hospital will hold a free Family Health and Wellness Fair.  Health screenings at the fair will cover vision, glaucoma, asthma, skin cancer, hypertension, diabetes and joints among other screenings.

Crabtown Throwdown

Where:  Strawberry Fields, 821 Frederick Rd. Catonsville

When:  Saturday, July 13, 10 a.m.

Description:  Beer, local food, live music, new Belgium beer, raffles, silent auction and more.

Cost:  Free

Bike Day at REI

Where:  REI Columbia, 6100 Dobbin Road, Columbia

When:  Sunday, July 14, 1 p.m.

Description:  Bike lovers are invited to join Maryland State Parks Park Quest 2013 Quest Star Sponsors REI and Diamondback Bikes at REI Columbia for a free class on bicycling basics, test-riding bikes and a chance to win a bike (no purchase required.

Paint It! Ellicott City

Where:  8267 Main Street, Ellicott City

When:  Thursday, July 11 – Monday, July 15

Description:  Artists from around the region will take to the streets of Historic Ellicott City beginning July 12 to participate in the plein air paint-out event, Paint It.

Cost: Free

Ye Haunted History of Olde Ellicott City Ghost Tour

Where:  8267 Main Street, Ellicott City

When:  Friday, July 12, 8:30 p.m.

Description:  Part 1 and part 2 (they don't need to be taken consecutively) relating the most recent eye-witness accounts of paranormal activity in the historic district.

Cost:  $13 Adults, $11 Children (12 & under) & seniors (65+) and Active Military Personnel & their Families. Not recommended for children under 6 years old. 

"Triple Divide," a documentary about fracking

Where:   Miller Branch Library, 9421 Frederick Road Ellicott City

When:  Sunday, July 14, 1:30

Description:  Triple Divide, a powerful documentary, will be shown.  Triple Divide reveals the failure of government and industry to protect Pennsylvania residents from the harmful effects of fracking in an area that feeds three major watersheds.
