Elkridge House To Be Demolished In May
Howard County officials noted that explosives are not expected to be used for the house demolition project.
ELKRIDGE, MD — A Howard County project slated to demolish a dilapidated home located at 7126 Montgomery Road in Elkridge will begin in late May. The demolition is part of the preliminary phase of a sidewalk installation project currently under design. Weather permitting, the demolition will begin following the removal of utilities from the home and is expected to be completed within one week. The demolition work is not expected to impact the flow of traffic in the area and will not include the use of explosives.
The sidewalk project, set to begin at a later date, will involve the installation of approximately 2,500 linear feet of sidewalk along eastbound Montgomery Road from Rowanberry Drive to the Lawyers Hill Apartments entrance. The sidewalk will connect several west Elkridge neighborhoods to the US 1 corridor.
