Dump Truck Kills Pedestrian In Dorsey Road Hit-And-Run: Police
Police said the driver of a commercial vehicle that killed a woman Tuesday night came forward.
ELKRIDGE, MD — Police said a woman was killed by a commercial dump truck Tuesday night in Elkridge. The driver left the scene of the crash, which happened on Dorsey Road at 7:19 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 30, according to officials. Police reported on Wednesday afternoon that the driver came forward after the fact.
Huma Rani Isfahani, 54, of Cresthill Court in Laurel, was crossing the street when she was hit by the dump truck in the 6800 block of Dorsey Road, according to police. She was pronounced deceased at the scene, officials said.
Police said the dump truck, which was headed east on Dorsey Road toward Anne Arundel County, took off. Authorities released video Tuesday evening from a doorbell camera at a nearby residence in hopes of locating the driver.

After seeing the video and realizing it may have been him, authorities said the driver called police.
"He has been cooperating fully with the police investigation," the Howard County Police Department reported on Wednesday, Oct. 31. "No charges have been filed at this time, but police are actively investigating the circumstances of the incident."

Here is how police described the suspect vehicle:
- Commercial dump truck with white cab
- Trailer attached hauling a bobcat or similar equipment
- Front bumper missing
Dorsey Road was closed between Douglas Legum Drive and the county line until 11:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 30.
Anyone with information is asked to call 911. The investigation is ongoing.
INITIAL REPORT — Police said at least one person died in a crash on Dorsey Road in Elkridge on Tuesday, Oct. 30. The road is closed near Douglas Legum Drive, officials reported at 7:45 p.m.
The collision occurred in the 6800 block of Dorsey Road, according to authorities.
Both directions of travel are blocked for the investigation in the area.
