I-95 Crash Caused Delays Near I-895 Exit

There was a crash on Interstate 95 Thursday afternoon near the Howard-Baltimore county line.

HOWARD COUNTY, MD — A crash on Interstate 95 snarled traffic Thursday afternoon near the county line between Baltimore and Howard. The collision happened on I-95 south before the exit for I-895.

The crash was reported before 1:15 p.m. on Thursday, April 4, according to state transportation officials. A traffic camera in the area showed a vehicle on I-95 south resting on its side in the right lane before 1:30 p.m.

To allow for cleanup, the three right lanes were closed before 1:30 p.m., according to the Maryland State Highway Administration.

The crash may have involved a vehicle that fell from a trailer, WTOP reported.

"Expect major delays," state highway officials said, advising people to take alternate routes.

By 1:45 p.m., traffic was backed up on I-95 south to I-195.

By 1:55 p.m., the crash had been moved to the right shoulder of I-895.
