I-95 Lane Closures to Begin Sunday

Work from Howard County to Baltimore City could last months, say officials.

If you plan on taking I-95 from Howard County through southwest Baltimore County at night anytime soon, the Maryland State Highway Administration (SHA) advsies allowing extra travel time.

Crews will begin pavement repair along I-95 beginning this Sunday night, and the nighttime work will last as long as temperatures permit through the late fall—and into next spring if necessary.

The work will extend along I-95 between the Howard/Baltimore County line and the Baltimore County/City line, according to an SHA release.

Crews will begin on northbound I-95  at the Howard County line and proceed north toward Baltimore City. Once the work is complete on northbound I-95, crews will begin work on the south side, according to SHA.

Single-lane closures along I-95 may begin at 7 p.m., with double lane closures beginning at 9 p.m. and ending by 5 a.m. the next morning. When necessary, triple lane closures may occur between midnight and 4 a.m., SHA said in the release.

During pavement repair work, crews will patch sections of damaged pavement along I-95. According to a statement from the SHA, workers will resurface lanes approaching I-95 bridges over the following:
