I-95 Standstill Attributed To Flipped Vehicle

BREAKING NEWS: Avoid I-95 south in Howard County if possible.

HOWARD COUNTY, MD — A crash on Interstate 95 brought traffic to a standstill in Howard County Thursday afternoon for more than half an hour. Three vehicles crashed on I-95 south before the exit for the Harbor Tunnel, according to transportation authorities.

Among them was a vehicle that flipped in the area between I-195 and I-895, according to WJZ.

The collision was first reported around 3:41 p.m. and led to the temporary shutdown of I-95 south. Traffic cameras showed bumper-to-bumper jams.

By 4:25 p.m., the two left lanes had reopened on I-95 south; the crash was moved to the right lane and right shoulder on I-95 south before the I-895 exit.

While lanes had reopened before 4:30 p.m., backups remained.

There was a 3-mile backup on I-95 south, WJZ reported around 4:37 p.m.
