MakingChange Offers Free Seminars on Budgeting, Credit, Jobs

Courses empower individuals and families to achieve financial stability

MakingChange , a nonprofit in Howard County which empowers individuals and families to achieve financial stability, will host three popular seminars at no charge to members of the community in July. The courses are:

“Where Did My Money Go,” an exploratory course covering budgeting, saving and ways to increase income and reduce expenses, will be held July 11, 7-8:30 p.m., East Columbia Branch Library.

“Understanding Credit” includes information on establishing and using credit, as well as understanding credit reports and scores. It is set for July 17, from 7-8:30 p.m., at the Elkridge Branch Library and again on July 18, from 7-8:30 p.m., at East Columbia Branch Library.

“Your Job and Your Money,” a practical class on the tools for acquiring a job and the necessary financial skills associated with managing your income, will be held July 25, 7-8:30 p.m., East Columbia Branch Library.

MakingChange teaches people to manage their money and change their lives through seminars and personal financial coaching. MakingChange also conducts Housing Counseling sessions for prospective homeowners and prepares free tax returns. MakingChange programs are offered in schools, human service agencies, businesses and elsewhere as requested.
