Matzohball 5K attracts 437 Registered Runners to Centennial Park

15th annual fundraiser organized by Temple Isaiah Men's Club benefits Howard County nonprofits Grassroots, DreamBuilders and Hope Works

The 15th Annual Matzohball 5K, coordinated by Temple Isaiah Men’s Club of Howard County, attracted a record number of 437 registered runners, 355 of which ran the 5K, while 82 participated in the 1-Mile Fun Run at Centennial Park in Ellicott City. The annual fundraiser garnered contributions from 44 Individual/Family sponsors and 27 Corporate sponsors. Proceeds from the race were donated to Temple Isaiah, Grassroots Crisis Intervention Center, DreamBuilders, and HopeWorks.

Temple Isaiah is a Reform synagogue in Fulton. Grassroots is Howard County 24-7 crisis intervention center and shelter for the homeless. DreamBuilders is an all-volunteer, faith-based organization of teens and adults. HopeWorks is a domestic violence service in Howard County.

The MatzohBall 5k was followed by a Family Wellness Day, a free community event with family activities, community booths, entertainment and prizes.
