Residences at Vantage Point Partners With Elementary School

Running Brook Elementary and Downtown Columbia retirement community learn from one another

Residences at Vantage Point, the retirement community in Downtown Columbia, has partnered with Running Brook Elementary School to create social connections, build a strong sense of community, and learn from one another through intergenerational activities and program. The partnership was recently formalized with an official signing at the Columbia school.

As part of the agreement, Vantage Point residents will serve as judges for the RBES Unheard Perspectives seminars, participate in generational interview projects and host an annual Reading Recovery picnic for students. Vantage Point and RBES staff will work together to implement an Adopt a Grandchild/Grandparent program.

Residences at Vantage Point is noted for its arts, cultural and educational activities, as well as for resident engagement with the larger community of Columbia. It is located at 5400 Vantage Point Road. For information, visit www.vantagepointresidences.org.

The Howard County Public School System’s Partnership Office has united schools with more than 1,000 businesses and community organizations to enhance the educational experience of Howard County students. Partnerships benefit schools, businesses and the entire community by leveraging the resources of all participants. Partners may commit human or financial resources or other support.
