Fire Out On Assateague Drive

Firefighters responded to a fire at a Jessup business on Sunday afternoon, according to authorities.

JESSUP, MD -- Firefighters handled a commercial building fire in Jessup Sunday afternoon, officials said. Within a half hour, crews said the fire was out.

When firefighters arrived, smoke was showing from the roof of the business in the 7300 block of Assateague Drive, authorities reported just before 2:30 p.m.

Crews conducted an offensive attack on the blaze, according to the Howard County Department of Fire and Rescue Services.

By 2:40 p.m., the fire was declared under control; and around 3 p.m., officials said the fire was completely out.

Nobody was injured in the blaze, the department reported.
