UMBC President on Time's Most Influential People List

Freeman A. Hrawbowski III is on the magazine's list of 100 Most Influential People in the World.

President Freeman A. Hrabowski III has been named one of the 100 most influential people in the world, according to TIME magazine.

Hrabowski, 61, has been at the helm of the university since 1992 and is no stranger to influential lists.

In 2009, TIME named him one of the 10 best college presidents. He was also named to U.S. News and World Report's best leaders in America.

In an article in the The Baltimore Sun, Hrabowski said his success and the success of the campus are the same.

UMBC was ranked the No. 1 "up and coming" university in 2009, 2010 and 2011, according to U.S. News and World Report.
