Virtual Meeting Aug. 11 to Discuss Stream Stabilization Project
The project will be located between 6733 and 6737 Pirch Way in Elkridge and is designed to stabilize the stream channel and banks.
HOWARD COUNTY, MD — Howard County’s department of public works will hold a virtual public meeting Aug. 11 at 7 p.m. to present plans for a stream stabilization project located between 6733 and 6737 Pirch Way in Elkridge. The purpose of the project is to stabilize the stream channel and banks and to provide water quality improvements to areas downstream.
The project will include the stabilization of approximately 300 linear feet of a tributary to Deep Run. Also, the streambanks will be graded and riffle grade control and stone toe protection structures will be positioned along the project area. This project is expected to begin in September 2020 and is partially funded through the Howard County’s Watershed Protection and Restoration Fund.
