What's Open, Closed in Howard County on Martin Luther King Jr. Day

The Martin Luther King Jr. holiday is on Monday, Jan. 19. In observance of the holiday, a number of Howard County offices will be closed. But some remain open.

Howard County government offices, courts, schools, senior centers and animal shelters will be closed on Monday. But regular trash and recycling services are still in effect and the Alpha Ridge Landfill will be open.

County parks and community centers and facilities will remain open with the exception of the Robinson Nature Center.

The Ellicott City Colored School will also be open, and the Regional Transportation Agency will operate on a regular schedule.

County offices will re-open for regular business hours on Tuesday, Jan. 20.
