Woman Hit By MARC Train Near Elkridge: Police

ELKRIDGE, MD — A woman struck by a MARC train near Elkridge Tuesday morning died at the scene. The incident occurred at approximately 8:32 a.m. in the 5800 block of Race Road.

The victim has been identified as Lynette Michelle Green, 32, of Elkridge.

Witnesses said the train conductor used the horn upon seeing Green on the tracks, but she did not move, officials reported.

According to the Howard County Police Department, the investigation is ongoing.

A MARC train hit and killed a man on train tracks in Rockville in February and a MARC Camden Line train hit and killed a pedestrian in Prince George’s County in January. A person was struck by a MARC train en route to D.C. last year near Laurel.
