$100K Winning Scratch Ticket Bought By Ellicott City Man
He told the Maryland Lottery he planned to use the prize to pay a few bills, including an auto loan and boost his savings account.
ELLICOTT CITY, MD — A 30-year-old IT professional from Ellicott City popped into a local grocery store recently to buy a scratch-off lotto ticket while visiting family. He couldn't believe what the instant ticket revealed.
The Ravens scratch-off ticket was a $100,000 top prize winner. He described the feeling of winning as "like a break of sun cutting through a cloudy sky." The lucky Ellicott City resident said he plans to use the prize to pay a few bills, including an auto loan and boost his savings account.
He found his good fortune at Harris Teeter #382 located at 11075 Resort Road in Ellicott City. For selling a top-prize winning scratch-off, the Howard County business earns a $1,000 lottery retailer bonus. The $5 game, which launched in July with seven $100,000 prizes, now has four top prizes remaining. Players selecting the $2 and $5 Ravens scratch-offs can win instantly or enter non-winning Ravens scratch-offs into the Lottery’s Ravens second-chance promotion. The promotion offers drawings throughout the professional football season, giving players a chance to win cash prizes, Ravens season tickets and football experiences. One lucky player will win season tickets for 20 years.
