3 Charged With 49 Counts Each In Vehicle Burglary Cases: Police

Three individuals face 49 counts each after police say they broke into vehicles located in Ellicott City and Elkridge.

HOWARD COUNTY, MD β€” Three people have been arrested and charged in several "theft from vehicle" cases that occurred along Trotters Chase in Ellicott City and Wecker Way in Elkridge. James Dudley Wilson, 42, Jerome Patrick Gray Jr., 49, of Laurel, and Brittany Anne Svede, 33, of West Friendship each are charged with 49 counts of rogue and vagabond, conspiracy to commit rogue and vagabond, theft and credit card fraud.

In these cases, the suspects stole items such as designer sunglasses, AirPods, golf clubs and a wallet from vehicles. According to the Howard County Police Department, the suspects then used the credit cards from the stolen wallet to make various fraudulent purchases. Police also believe they pawned stolen items.

"In many cases like these, thieves target unlocked vehicles with valuables in plain sight. They will often bypass vehicles they discover are locked or do not have items of value in plain sight. This is a great reminder that when parking your car, whether at work, home or elsewhere, to always remove valuables, lock the car and take all sets of keys with you. This will greatly reduce your chances of becoming a victim of this crime," the police department shared.
