Ellicott City Woman Saved By Officer's Actions: Police
A corporal in the Howard County Police Department came to the rescue recently in Ellicott City.

ELLICOTT CITY, MD β An Ellicott City woman was saved recently by an officer who sprang into action, according to police.
Officials said the woman's husband had come home from running an errand to find his wife, who is 68, unconscious and not breathing.
The responding officer β Cpl. Ray Trodden β travels with one of the department's 74 automated external defibrillators (AED). Police said he immediately started using the AED and performing CPR.

The woman began breathing, and Howard County fire and rescue personnel then stabilized her and took her to the hospital, police said.
"In cases like these, every minute matters," the Howard County Police Department said in a statement Friday, noting the importance of training and having the right equipment. "Kudos to Cpl. Trodden on his lifesaving efforts!"
