Fire Companies Pay Respects to Fallen Paramedic in West Friendship

To honor Captain Erik Steciak of the West Friendship Volunteer Fire Department, firefighters from near and far showed up in Howard County to pay their respects at a viewing on Friday, Jan. 16.

Steciak died Jan. 6 in the line of duty, working as a paid paramedic with the Bel Air Volunteer Fire Company responding to a call for service during a snowstorm.

Friday’s viewing was the first of two; the second will be in Bel Air, and the funeral will be Sunday. Get viewing and funeral information here.
