The National Weather Service issued the flash flood watch for central and southeast Howard County from 2 a.m. until 8 p.m. Thursday.

HOWARD COUNTY, MD β A flash flood watch has been issued by the National Weather Service for central and southeast Howard County from 2 a.m. until 8 p.m. Thursday. A flash flood watch also has been issued for Anne Arundel, Prince George's, Charles, St. Mary's and Calvert counties from 2 a.m. Thursday until the afternoon.
Humid conditions are expected to fire up "numerous showers and a few thunderstorms" in the area. The National Weather Service anticipates up to 2 inches of rain falling in the area with isolated pockets of higher rainfall totals. Heavy downpours can cause creeks and streams to rise quickly and areas with inefficient draining may see water backing up.
