John P. Pacylowski Jr., 67, Owner of Precious Gifts in Ellicott City
Obituary and service information from Harry H. Witzke's Family Funeral Home.
John P. Pacylowski Jr., 67, died on Friday, Sept. 9, 2016, from injuries sustained from an accidental fall in Historic Ellicott City. John’s store, Precious Gifts, was damaged from this summer’s flood and he was repairing the exterior walls.
John was born on April 15, 1949, in New Jersey where he grew up and lived until he joined the Army after high school. He was deployed to Korea, where he met his wife and love of his life, Sun. After being honorably discharged from the Army, he married Sun and brought his bride home with him where they eventually settled in Columbia, MD.
John ran a successful construction company for many years before he joined his wife at Precious Gifts, their store in Historic Ellicott City. Together every day, they ran that store for over 20 years before a flood damaged much of the town, including their building. John and Sun were rebuilding their store at the time of his tragic accident.

John and Sun welcomed so many people into their store and into their lives. Those that knew John, knew a determined and proud man who put his family and their needs above all else. They knew a warm and giving man who would wash off a hard day’s work to cheer for his grandkids on the pitch, field or rink. John would want those that he knew to come together and celebrate his life, sharing stories, and comforting his loved ones.
