A Love Letter To Todd From Julie

To celebrate Valentine's Day, we asked Patch readers to write a love letter to that special someone and let us deliver it. This is Julie Day's love letter to Todd:

My Dearest Todd,

When you walked into that restaurant on April 2, I knew my life was going to be forever changed. For this first time in my life, I came out of my introverted shell and was completely myself. From the very first words we spoke, when I told you I was very nervous, I was honest, true to myself and raw. I was the most sincere and real that night that I have ever been.

I told you how I hated dating, couldn't wait to take my profile down, how I do not play games and that I refuse to settle until I find the right person for me and my son. As you laughed at my silly stories and smiled with a gentle but strong confidence, I became more and more comfortable with you. We had sparks and undeniable chemistry, but what felt more exciting was the ease and sincerity we instantly established.

It felt different. It felt right.

That night and that comfort between us became the beginning of what I have waited for all my life. As a single mom, I waited a very long time to find the right person to share my life with, and that is you, my dear.

I wasn't looking for perfect, but you are perfect for me, perfect for my Brody, and we are simply the perfect "match." We complement each other in the most important ways, have the same morals and beliefs about love, loyalty, and relationships and make each other laugh all the time. Our laughter is beautifully hysterical, and your jokes, texts, and the fact that you have to make a ridiculous face in every one of our pictures, makes my heart smile every day.

You are the dream I never thought would come true. My Prince Charming, my strongest supporter, my best friend, my partner in life, my own personal comedian, my snuggle monster and my one and only human koala bear. I love your strength, and your strong sense of responsibility and sensibility, just as much as I love your soft, gentle heart, and the way you koala hug me so tight that I can't move or breathe.

You have allowed me to be myself with you and to openly express my feelings and opinions. For that, I thank you. Thank you for being a sweet gentleman, for caring for me like no other, for singing me love songs, for holding my hand and my heart, for being there for me and my family, for being a strong positive influence in Brody's life, for the first time in my life showing me what true, devoted love is and for simply being you!

I knew my path was going to be different that night, when we started on our journey through life together, but I never expected it to be this fun, supportive, loving, devoted, caring, hysterically funny, bright and comfortably perfect. You simply light up my life, and I will spend my days showing you the depth of my love, and lighting up your life and heart as well.

Happy Valentine's Day to my dream come true, my one true love, my sweet Todd. I love you with every ounce of my soul today and always mon amour.
