
Eastern Technical High School is reporting that all the Allied Health students who participated in the American Heart Association First Aid, CPR and BLS for the HealthCare Provider course have passed their certification exams.
“This is an outstanding accomplishment for our students and the Allied Health instructors, Eastern Tech administrators and the rest of the facility and staff are proud of their performance,” Eastern Tech Allied Health teacher Amy Magladry said in a statement.
The Allied Health students have been working their technical skills unit associated with the National Healthcare Foundation Standards which includes: responding to emergencies, obtaining and recording vital signs as well as American Heart Association First Aid, CPR and Basic Life Support (BLS) for the HealthCare Provider.

CPR is one link in what the American Heart Association calls the "chain of survival." The chain of survival is a series of actions that, when performed in sequence, will give a person having a heart attack the greatest chance of survival.
Research shows that heart attack victims have double the chance of survival if they are immediately given CPR. Knowing what to do in a health emergency can minimize the damage of an injury or even save a life.
