Baltimore Ravens Offer Ray Rice Jersey Exchange Next Week
The team particularly encourages families, women and children to come to M&T Bank Stadium for the jersey turn-in event.

The Baltimore Ravens will allow fans to exchange their Ray Rice jerseys on Sept. 19 and 20.
Rice was cut from the team and suspended from the NFL indefinitely after TMZ Sports released a video of the February domestic assault in Atlantic City in which his wife was knocked unconscious in an elevator. He has since been indicted and enrolled in a pretrial intervention program in New Jersey.
The Ravens said that fans can exchange their Rice jerseys for that of another player during the event, which will be held at M&T Bank Stadium.

“The exchange is to provide an opportunity for fans—particularly families, women and children—to exchange a Rice jersey for an available jersey of another Ravens player,” the Ravens said of the exchange.
To be eligible for the exchange, jerseys must be officially licensed by the NFL (an licensing expert from the NFL will be on-site to verify), made by Nike or Reebok, and have been purchased at the Ravens Team Store at M&T Bank Stadium or the team stores online (baltimoreravensshop.com or shop.baltimoreravens.com). One jersey will be accepted per person.

New England Patriots fans engaged in a similar exchange last year after former tight end Aaron Hernandez was charged with murder, which—according to ESPN—was the first event of its kind.
Hernandez is currently being held without bail awaiting trial for three murders in which he is charged. When the Patriots held its exchange, more than 2,500 fans swapped their jerseys, according to TIME.
The team lost $250,000 but the Patriots owner told CBS Sports: “It was principle, over money...”
According to ESPN, Ray Rice’s jersey was the 28th bestselling jersey last year.
The Ray Rice jersey exchange will take place from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 19, and Saturday, Sept. 20, at M&T Bank Stadium. 1101 Russell Street, in Baltimore. Parking is available in Lot B at the stadium. The event will be near section 140 of the stadium; enter at Gate A to get to the northwest concourse and stadium store.
One other place to turn in jerseys: Hersh’s Pizza in Federal Hill is donating $2.70 to House of Ruth for each jersey dropped off to its parlor; 1843-1845 Light Street in Baltimore.
