Cookie Harris Passes Away Unexpectedly

The wife of Congressman Andy Harris was reportedly rushed to hospital from Cockeysville home.

Sylvia “Cookie” Harris, the wife of U.S. Rep. Andy Harris, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, according to reports.

Baltimore County paramedics were called to a home in Cockeysville, where Cookie and Andy Harris Live, at approximately 11:40 a.m. on Thursday for a reported cardiac arrest, according to WBAL.

The Republican congressman—whose district includes Baltimore, Carroll, Cecil and Harford counties and others on the Eastern Shore—was by her side in the hospital when she passed, WJZ reported. The couple had reportedly been married for 30 years.

Cookie Harris is survived by five children and two grandchildren, according to a statement from the Maryland GOP, which said she was known for her Maryland Right to Life advocacy and Catholic views. She was the director of special events for the Maryland Right to Life organization, which is a pro-life group.
