Deep Creek Middle Closing Early on Tuesday
A school in Essex closed early because it lacked heat Tuesday, when temps were below freezing.

ESSEX, MD — Deep Creek Middle School closed early on Tuesday due to lack of heat, according to Baltimore County Public Schools.
The school on Marlyn Avenue was closing at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 5, because the building lacked heat, officials said in a statement after 10:30 a.m.
After-school and evening activities are cancelled at Deep Creek Middle School on Tuesday as well, the statement said.

Temperatures were below freezing on Tuesday in Essex, with a high of 31 and low of 18 degrees, according to the National Weather Service.
