Essex Resident Crystal Francis In Roadtrip Nation Documentary
A documentary following an Essex resident's journey to learn more about higher education is now available online.

Essex resident Crystal Francis, is appearing in Roadtrip Nation’s new one-hour documentary, “Degree of Impact,” which is now available online at www.degreeofimpact.com.
Francis was one of three doctoral students who was filmed for three weeks last spring, traveling across the United States in an RV, to meet and interview professionals and doctoral graduates who pursued their educational dreams, overcame challenges, and went on to lead successful and diverse careers.
After earning an MS in Integrated Homeland Security Management, Francis decided she wanted to go further in public policy to be better able to make a difference in Baltimore City’s high crime rate. While working full-time as a program analyst at the Social Security Administration, she is pursuing a PhD in Public Policy and Administration with a specialization in Nonprofit Management and Leadership at Walden University. Ultimately, Francis hopes to use her doctorate to align her passion with her job, and she is researching re-entry programs for non-violent offenders.
