The fifth annual illumination to honor our veterans is being held at 4:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 6 at the Lamky Luther Whitehead Veterans Memorial. Â
The memorial is located at Holly Hills Memorial Gardens, 10201 Bird River Rd in Middle River.
The ceremony takes place at the Avenues of Honors at the base of the cemetery. People attending may start to gather as early as 4:30 p.m. if they wish, and are encouraged to bring a chair for comfort during the ceremony.

Boy Scouts from Packs and Troops 117 and 355 will be setting out over 600 luminaries in honor of all our veterans that have honorably served, and for those service members who were killed in action.Â
The names of these brave men and women from WWI until present are engraved on the corresponding monuments.

The ceremony takes approximately one hour, and there will be a ride through at the conclusion. This is a very beautiful site to view after dark, and stays illuminated all evening into the night for your viewing.
The public is welcome, and encouraged to come.

There is also going to be a traditional Veterans' Day Service at the memorial held on Friday, Nov. 11, at 11 a.m. The public is also invited to this service.
