Update: Baby Girl Returned to Family After Wandering Off
Contrary to former reports, pretzels and water were left for the pup by a misguided good Samaritan.

Update:
Happy Hounds Homeward Bound dog rescue's VP and Rescue Coordinator Christina Stone released a statement saying:
"We want to thank the community for their concern and are happy to report that Baby Girl has been returned to her family. We were more then happy to step in after the good Samaritan who found her couldn't pay the medical bill. But in accordance with Baltimore County Stray Dog Law we called and reported her when we could not locate the owners based on the microchip information. We just want to stress to everyone how important it is to register your animals microchip to avoid the wrong person being called."

She then followed up by explaining:
"She was never abandoned. She wandered off and dropped from exhaustion. After doing our research for the owner it was determined that a neighbor of the good Samaritan put pretzels & water out for the dog not knowing the salt on the pretzels were not good for. So she is safely back with her family. HHHB never stepped in to claim the dog. We never once said she was ours and did call Animal Control the next morning to report the dogs where abouts."

"Anyone recognize this dog? Contact Heather at 410-908-3321
Someone dumped this poor senior dog on the farmland where I live. Found on Earls Beach Rd off Ebenezer Rd in Chase. They dumped her with a water bowl and salty pretzels (which could shut down her kidneys). Does anyone recognize this poor sweet soul? She's in shock."
