One Road Opens, Another Closes In Middle River

A road was closed in Middle River Tuesday night due to high water.

MIDDLE RIVER, MD — After US 40 reopened in the area of Martin Boulevard due to high water Tuesday night, another road closure has been reported. Wilson Point Road is flooded, according to Baltimore County public safety officials.

Wilson Point Road is flooded in the area of MD 150/Eastern Boulevard.

There is a water main break, according to Baltimore County public safety officials, who said it was unknown whether the incident was weather related.

Notice of the traffic issue comes as eastern Baltimore County — including Middle River — remains under a flash flood warning until 8:15 p.m. Tuesday and a flood warning until 10:45 p.m.

Baltimore County emergency officials said there had been multiple people trapped in floodwaters in the eastern part of the county by 5:45 p.m.

One intersection that closed in Middle River Tuesday night because of high water and has since reopened to traffic. Before 6 p.m. transportation officials reported that US 40/Pulaski Highway was closed both east and westbound at MD 700/Martin Boulevard.

By 7 p.m., state transportation officials were reporting that US 40 had reopened at Martin Boulevard.

During the flood warning periods, anyone who comes across a road with water of questionable depth should turn around; don't drown.
