Kenwood Lacrosse Rewarded For Strong Season

Several Bluebirds were recognized following the team's 12-3 season.

season came to an end May 11 following a tough 17-1 loss to in the Class 4A/3A North regional quarterfinals.

Despite the lopsided defeat, left the field knowing the program made significant strides during the 2012 campaign. The Bluebirds finished the season 12-3, which included a seven-game winning streak at one point in the year.

In addition, Kenwood took home several individual honors a year after going 7-9. Leading that list is senior attack Jordan Boller, who became the first player in program history to receive Honorable Mention All-American status by the USILA, Bluebirds coach Tony Ruocco said.

Boller finished the regular season with 43 goals, 32 assists and 52 ground balls. He was also selected as the Fox 45 Prep Player of the Week earlier this season and was one of five Kenwood players to make the Baltimore County All-Division II First Team.

Also, Ruocco placed second to Hereford's Brian King in the Baltimore County Coach of the Year voting.
