Luxury Apartments Near White Marsh Earn Gold

The Arbors at Baltimore Crossroads is one of three apartment communities in the state to receive a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Gold designation.

A host of eco-friendly amenities including Energy Star appliances, solar panels and energy-efficient heating have helped a large scale Middle Rive/White Marsh apartment complex earn top marks for environmental friendliness.

The Arbors at Baltimore Crossroads, a 365-unit luxury apartment community, earned a gold level Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design designation, from the United States Green Building Council – Maryland Chapter, according to a release.

"LEED elements integrated into the community include energy-efficient heating, ventilating and air-conditioning and hot water systems; low-flow plumbing fixtures; Energy Star appliances; and 360 solar panels on the rooftop of the garage  that provides electricity to the public grid when not being fully utilized on-site," the release states."

“The Arbors at Baltimore Crossroads illustrates and executes creative thinking with regard to how multi-family properties should best incorporate sustainable products and techniques into everyday living,” Mary Pulcinella, Executive Director of the Maryland Chapter of USGBC, said in a release. “We are extremely impressed with the depth and breadth of green features that have been engineered into this residential property and believe it serves as a role model in the industry.”

The Arbors at Crossroads is the first apartment complex in Baltimore, and third in the state, to earn the high-level designation, according to the release.
