Mount Carmel Players provide unique opportunity to OLMC students

As the curtain goes up for the Mount Carmel Players, Shrek will stop by for a visit for shows on Friday, Saturday and Sunday – March 10, 11 and 12. Shows will be repeated the following weekend as well. While on stage at Our Lady of Mount Carmel School, 1706 Old Eastern Avenue, Shrek will be joined by many of his friends like Donkey, Princess Fiona and many others. What a bonus for the students at Our Lady of Mount Carmel School! There are many opportunities for students to have the chance to participate in a live stage show.

Having the Mount Carmel Players hosts a live show each spring is an added bonus for attending classes at Our Lady of Mount Carmel School. Students can enroll in the early learning center at the ages of 2, 3 and 4 before beginning kindergarten. Classes continue K-12. Students can take advantage of this extracurricular activity in all grade levels, gaining experience and boosting their confidence through theatre participation. The middle and high school students also have the opportunity to be part of the stage crew, learning how much work is done behind the scenes to put on a successful production. They gain valuable exposure to the various careers available other than on stage acting.

Tickets for the shows are available in advance, and if the show isn’t sold out, tickets will be available at the door. Know that the Friday and Saturday shows will have curtain up at 8 p.m. The Sunday matinee is scheduled for 2 p.m. Tickets in advance are $12 for adults and $9 for children and seniors; at the door tickets are $13 and $10 for all shows. Note, on Sunday dinner is an additional option at 12:30 p.m. with tickets for dinner and the show at $17 for Adults; $13 for children and seniors in advance. At the door, they are $18 and $14.
