Police Seek Tips In Essex Parking Lot Shooting
A 24-year-old man was wounded Wednesday evening in a shooting in Essex, say Baltimore County police.

ESSEX, MD — Baltimore County police detectives are investigating a Wednesday evening shooting in which an unidentified 24-year-old man was wounded. A friend drove the shooting victim to a local hospital, where he is expected to recover, the police said.
The victim was in a parking lot in the 1100 block of Punjab Drive in Essex at about 5:49 p.m. Wednesday "when he was approached by a group of men and ultimately shot at least once in the upper body," the police said in a statement.
The group fled the scene before police arrived. The motive for the shooting remains under investigation.

Given that the shooting occurred in the early evening, the police said they believe there may be witnesses with information who have not yet spoken with the detectives.
Anyone who may have seen or heard anything out of the ordinary around Punjab Drive at about the time of the shooting, or who may have information regarding the shooting, is asked to contact police at 410-307-2020.
