Power Outage in Middle River Closes School Early: BCPS
Hawthorne Elementary School dismissed early on Thursday because of a power outage, Baltimore County Public Schools officials said.
MIDDLE RIVER, MD — Hawthorne Elementary School is closing early on Thursday because of a power outage, according to Baltimore County Public Schools officials.
All after-school and evening activities that were to take place at the school at 125 Kingston Road are canceled.
Because of the power outage, Hawthorne Elementary School dismissed at 11:15 a.m. on Thursday, which was the second day of the 2016–2017 academic year for students.

The outage on Kingston Road was first reported at 8:34 a.m., and the estimated restoration time was 11:45 a.m., according to BGE.
