School Closed for Chesapeake High Students on Tuesday: BCPS

A water main break canceled classes for some students in Essex, Baltimore County Public Schools officials announced Tuesday morning.

ESSEX, MD — Chesapeake High School is closed on Tuesday, Sept. 6, due to a utility issue.

There was a water main break at the school, located in the 1800 block of Turkey Point Road, according to Baltimore County Public Schools officials.

The break in the 12-inch water main on Turkey Point Road impacted hundreds, including Chesapeake High School, public works personnel reported.

Tuesday was the ninth day of the 2016–2017 academic year for Baltimore County public school students, who began Wednesday, Aug. 24, and had Monday, Sept. 5, off for Labor Day.
