A Harford County man was allegedly preparing to race in front of a crowd Sunday night near Essex when a trooper pulled up to the starting line. Officials say they continue to investigate illegal street racing and encourage anyone who witnesses such activities to report them to their local Maryland State Police barrack.

Main Street In Annapolis Reopens After Downtown Gas Leak
Initial reports of the gas leak came in around 10:30 a.m. and the buildings on the west side of Main Street to Conduit Street, including Annapolis Elementary School, were evacuated as a precaution.
Security Chief Had Sex With 17-Year-Old Despite No Contact Order: Police
The security leader at one Rockville high school has been charged with sexual abuse of a minor. He was arrested in April and told to have no contact with minors, but had sex with a teen last week, police said.
