CPR Training, Classes at Joppa-Magnolia Awareness Day

The Aug. 31 event will include blood pressure screenings and kid-friendly games at the fire company in Joppa.

The Joppa-Magnolia Volunteer Fire Co. is holding its first heart and stroke awareness day.

The free event includes hands-only CPR training, stroke awareness training, blood pressure screenings and games for kids.

The event will be held Thursday, Aug. 31 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the station at 1403 Old Mountain Rd. in South Joppa.

Firefighters will also host two free CPR and automated external defibrillator classes at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Registration is required for that class via email at EMSadministrator@jmvfc.org.
