Students at Fallston were told to seek medical attention after another student poked them: BREAKING.

FALLSTON, MD — More than a dozen students at Fallston High School were advised to seek medical attention after a fellow student poked them with a medical device.

"At this time, we are aware of approximately 19 students who were pricked with the blood lancet," Harford County Public Schools spokeswoman Jillian Lader said Thursday afternoon.

Other students may have been impacted, so school officials notified all parents and guardians, she said.

The Harford County Sheriff's Office was called to the school in the 2300 block of Carrs Mill Road after a fellow student notified administrators of the situation, Major Jack Simpson said Thursday afternoon.

A 15-year-old boy had pricked his classmates with the medical device used to detect blood sugar in diabetics, which he had taken from a family member, according to police.

“We believe at this point he thought it was humorous,” Simpson said.

The victims were advised to get themselves checked out with their medical providers or to go to urgent care centers.

Simpson said that the incident was considered an assault, and after the sheriff's office investigated, the Harford County State's Attorney would review the case to determine whether charges should be filed.
