Harford County Public Schools Give Advance Notice on Weather

Public schools in Harford County will be delayed two hours on Thursday, Jan. 8, according to Harford County Public Schools.

Morning prekindergarten has been canceled.

The delay came after schools were closed Tuesday due to snow and delayed Wednesday on account of ice.

School officials said they would reevaluate conditions Thursday morning and were making the announcement the night before “in an effort to provide our community with additional notice.”

The National Weather Service has issued a wind chill advisory until 8 a.m. Thursday, stating that strong winds and cold temperatures could put people at risk of hypothermia and frostbite. People who must go outside should be equipped with gloves and hats.
